Context
The student dashboard was the primary touchpoint outside live 1:1 classes. However, engagement dropped sharply once classes ended.
The product worked during class time, but failed before and after class.
My role was to rethink the entire student experience—from navigation and scheduling to motivation, progress visibility, and multi-course management.

The Core Problems
Engagement & Motivation
No fun or rewarding experience outside classes
Very low post-class activity completion
No gamification or social learning
Learning Continuity
No global curriculum view
Difficult to track progress over time
Practice, quizzes, and assessments were fragmented
Discoverability & Navigation
Poor navigation structure
Multiple courses were hard to manage
Important actions were buried
Discoverability & Navigation
No clear place for parents to understand progress
Learning outcomes and engagement were invisible
Understanding the Problem
To avoid designing in isolation, I triangulated insights from:
Students & parents (qualitative feedback)
Stakeholders & business goals
Teachers & academic teams
Heatmaps & usage data

Product Strategy
Learning should be visible
Progress should feel rewarding
Students should always know what to do next
Multi-course learning should feel effortless
Parents should understand progress at a glance
User Flow

Before
After
Key Experience Shifts
Personal & Global Feeds
From Isolated Learning → Social Discovery
This allowed students to:
Give feedback for the classes
Post class activities
Get update with all the class related updates
Get inspired by peer projects
Discover other courses organically
Feel part of a learning community
Practice Zone: Making Learning Stick
Math students were forgetting concepts over time. The solution wasn’t more content, it was practice accessibility.

Practice Zone introduced:
Chapter-wise worksheets
In-dashboard practice
PDF download for offline/physical practice
Quizzes & Homeworks: From Hidden → Trackable
Quizzes and assessments were buried inside class summaries and tracking was difficult
Practice Zone introduced:
Dedicated sections for Quizzes and Homeworks
All quizzes visible in one place
Easy course switching for multi-course students
Scheduling: Reducing Missed &
Rescheduled Classes
Scheduling issues caused friction for both students and parents.

I introduced a mini calendar:
Clear class visibility
Easier rescheduling
Reduced missed sessions

Overall Impact
Qualitative Outcomes
Better post-class engagement
Improved discoverability of quizzes and practice
Clearer progress tracking for students and parents
Stronger foundation for cross-course adoption
Business Alignment
Supported retention and upsell goals
Reduced support dependency for
scheduling and tracking
